Ayurvedic Spiced Fruit Jam

Ayurvedic Spiced Fruit jam

  • Coarsely ground ripe jackfruit – 1 cup (remove the seeds before grinding)
  • Orange puree – 1 1/2 cups (choose sweet variety)
  • Pineapple puree – 1 1/2 cup (choose sweet variety)
  • Sugarcane Jaggery powder – 3 cups (you can use palm jaggery or Brown sugar)
  • Lime juice – 1/2 tablespoon
  • Dried rose petal powder – 3 tablespoon
  • Cinnamon powder – 1/4 teaspoon
  • Dry ginger powder – 1/4 teaspoon
  • Clove powder – 1/4 teaspoon
  • Cardamom powder – 1/4 teaspoon
  • Nutmeg powder – 1/8 teaspoon 
  • Allspice powder – 1/8 teaspoon 

In a thick bottom pan, add fruit puree and cook for couple of minutes. Then add jaggery powder and rose petal powder and mix well. Cook on low-medium flame till the mixture gets thick. Add spice powders and mix. Let this cook for few more minutes till the mixture turns into jam consistency.

Switch off the stove and add lime juice and mix well.

Let the jam cool completely before storing it in an airtight glass bottle. 

Enjoy this healthy jam with fresh homemade roti/paratha/bread.
