Palak Paneer Subji

Serves: 2

Ingredients : (Visit English – Tamil – Hindi translation/ஆங்கிலம்-தமிழ் மொழி பெயர்பு)

  • Finely chopped spinach – 2 cups
  • Scrambled Fresh Paneer – 1/2 cup
  • Homemade Masala Powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Turmeric Powder – 1/8 tsp
  • Finely chopped Ginger – 1/4 tsp
  • Oil/ Ghee – 1/2 tsp
  • Salt – To taste
  • Lime juice – 1/2 tsp

For Seasoning:

  • Cumin seeds – 1/2 tsp
  • Asafoetida – a pinch

Get Started:

  • Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds and asafoetida. Saute for few seconds in low flame.
  • Then add all the ingredients except lime juice and cook it covered in medium flame till spinach turns bright green.
  • Remove from flame and add lime juice before serving.

Simple Palak Paneer Subji is ready!

Enjoy it as a side-dish for Roti/Paratha.

Note:

  • Spinach slightly aggravates Pitta and Vata but pacifies Kapha.
  • Paneer pacifies Vata and Pitta but aggravates Kapha. Hence, the spinach- panner combination with the spices balances the dish.
  • People with Kidney stones or gall bladder stones must avoid Spinach.
